SOUTH KOREA – WHERE LIFE GIVES YOU MORE THAN JUST TANGERINES

DEPTH, WOMEN’S STORIES, AND TRADITIONAL HARMONY

28 May – 9 June 2026 | 6 – 18 October 2026

A journey that reveals not only the landscapes of South Korea but also its soul – through a woman’s perspective, with a slower pace and deeper meaning. On this 13-day women’s tour, we will explore not only the iconic sights of Seoul, Jeju, and Busan, but also immerse ourselves in the feminine side of Korean culture – from the world of the haenyeo women divers to the silence of Buddhist retreats. Our journey includes a visit to the campus of Ewha Womans University, a symbol of women’s education in Asia; a stroll through a royal palace in traditional hanbok attire; and a hands-on kimchi-making workshop. On Jeju Island, we will dedicate a full day to the heritage of the haenyeo women who preserve the tradition of free diving for collecting seafood. We will take part in a volunteer program, discover Korea’s most beautiful tea plantations and artisan workshops, learn the natural secrets of Korean beauty care, and end the trip with a Buddhist temple retreat – where silence and mindfulness take on a new meaning. Our accommodations are carefully selected sustainable stays, hanok-style boutique hotels, and locally run guesthouses – fostering connections not only to places but also to people. The trip combines walking tours, culinary experiences, community encounters, and deep cultural insights – all through the lens of women’s stories, in a country where tradition and modernity live in unique harmony.

  • Arrival at Incheon International Airport
  • Transfer to the accommodation in Seoul’s Gangnam district
  • Early evening walk in Seoul’s Insadong Art District
  • Traditional Korean dinner

Day 3 – Cradle of Women’s Knowledge, Palace Visit in Hanbok, Kimchi Making

  • Our day begins at the cradle of Korean women’s knowledge – the campus of Ewha Womans University. As one of the largest women’s universities in the world, it offers an inspiring environment that is both modern and steeped in history.
  • From here, we step through the gates of the past as we explore Gyeongbokgung Palace dressed in traditional hanbok, quite literally stepping into history. We will also visit the Palace Museum.
  • In the afternoon, we’ll become masters of Korean flavors ourselves during a kimchi-making workshop – and not just anywhere, but at the Kimchi Museum itself.

Day 4 – Magical Jeju Island and Discovery of the Korean Sauna World

  • We depart for Jeju Island on a morning flight.
  • Upon arrival, transfer to the accommodation to drop off our luggage.
  • In the afternoon, we explore the Korean sauna world, which is not only a truly refreshing and relaxing experience but also a social event for Koreans.

Day 5 – With the Haenyeo, the Free-Diver Women

B for Bluewater diving!
  • We dedicate our entire day to the heritage of the haenyeo. If you’d like to explore this fascinating slice of Korean culture before the trip, we recommend watching the Netflix series When the Camellia Blooms.
  • At the Haenyeo Museum, we will learn about the history of these brave, bottle-free diving women – a tradition recognized as part of UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage. Afterwards, as part of a volunteer program, we will help clean the shoreline ourselves.
  • The day concludes with the Haenyeo Kitchen culinary experience – savoring the true flavors of the sea.

Day 6 – Excursion to Hallasan, the Highest Mountain in Korea

  • From the depths to the heights – today we head to Hallasan, Korea’s highest volcanic mountain.
  • In the evening, we check in to our accommodation on the southern coast of the island.

Day 7 – Dongbok Fishing Village and Camellia Arboretum

  • We will visit Dongbok Fishing Village, where we will also take part in a handicraft workshop.
  • Afterwards, we’ll enjoy a refreshing walk in the nearby Camellia Arboretum.

Day 8 – Discovering the World of Korean Tea and Natural Beauty Care

  • On our last day on Jeju, we explore Korean tea culture at the Osulloc Tea Museum workshop. Then we visit the Innisfree Experience Center, a flagship for natural Korean beauty products.

  • In the afternoon, we fly onward to Busan.

Day 9 – Visit to Haedong Yonggungsa Temple and Gamcheon Culture Village

  • Busan, South Korea’s second-largest city, welcomes us with a visit to one of the world’s most iconic Buddhist temples – Haedong Yonggungsa. Unlike most sacred sites of its kind, this remarkable temple was built not in the mountains but along the coastline.
  • In the afternoon, the colorful alleyways, murals, galleries, and refugee stories of Gamcheon Culture Village reveal another side of Korea – creativity born from vulnerability.

Day 10 – Seoul, KTX High-Speed Train, and Korean Cooking Workshop

  • In the morning, we return to Seoul by KTX high-speed train.
  • We will prepare our own lunch during a Korean cooking workshop – so we can take the flavors of Korea home with us as a lasting memory.

Day 11 – Full Day at a Special Buddhist Retreat

  • We conclude our journey with a Buddhist temple retreat, where time slows down, thoughts clear, and we step into the deepest layers of Korean culture through meditation practice – into the silence.

Day 12 – Free Day in Seoul

  • Full day at leisure in Seoul for individual exploration – with recommendations and tips provided, of course.

Day 13 – Departure for the return journey, depending on your home country.

  • Travel from Incheon International Airport back to your home country.
