Plan B — B as Berber

Day 1 – Arrival and First Moroccan Flavors

  • Arrival to Marrakesh. A transfer will take you to a charming riad, which will be our home for the coming days.
  • The evening begins with an authentic, traditional Moroccan dinner in the courtyard of the riad. We will taste dishes made from fresh, local ingredients that immediately immerse us in the country’s rich culinary world. This dinner marks the festive opening of our shared journey, setting the tone for the experiences ahead and allowing us to enjoy Moroccan hospitality from the very first night.

Day 2 - Flavors, Stories, and the Power of Community

  • This day perfectly reflects why a women’s journey in Morocco is so special: we will cook together with local women while gaining insight into their daily lives and the inspiring work of their community. At a women’s non-profit organization , we will take part in an authentic Moroccan cooking class, learning the secrets of flavors and spices, and discovering how they support disadvantaged women in finding employment in hospitality. The income from their restaurant goes entirely toward this mission – so with every bite, we are also contributing to a good cause. The organization will also share how they supported families and individuals who lost their homes after the earthquake by preparing and distributing food.
  • Afterwards, we will visit a tea ceremony where we’ll have the opportunity to talk with the women working there. Through their honest stories, we will gain insight into the challenges and joys of their daily lives and learn how being part of this community shapes and empowers them.
  • In the afternoon, we will visit a unique, accessible community space that not only supports the hearing-impaired community but also plays an active role in assisting families and communities affected by the earthquake. Here, we will encounter genuine social responsibility – directly and on a human level.
  • We will end the evening in Marrakesh’s vibrant medina and the famous Jemaa el-Fna square, where the kaleidoscope of sounds, scents, and colors will both enchant us and reveal the city’s true spirit.

Day 3 – Colors, Art, and the Moroccan Rhythm

  • We will begin the day at one of Marrakesh’s most iconic landmarks, the Jardin Majorelle where the vibrant shades of blue and exotic plants create a truly unique atmosphere. Afterwards, we will explore the Bahia Palace , with its dazzling mosaics and magnificent courtyards – a real journey back in time into the world of Moroccan architecture and art.
  • From here, we continue our exploration through the narrow streets of the medina: colorful markets, artisan workshops, and hidden courtyards reveal the true face of the city. Amidst the bustling atmosphere, we can understand how traditions and everyday life have coexisted here for centuries.
  • We will enjoy our lunch at a unique, sustainability-focused venue where dishes made from local ingredients are not only delicious but also reflect the values of conscious gastronomy. This experience offers a perfect opportunity to recharge both body and soul before continuing our journey through the colorful world of Marrakesh.

Day 4 – By Bike and in the Hammam: Experiences for Body and Soul

On this day, active relaxation will be the main theme: an active exploration of Marrakesh’s streets by bicycle, and the traditional hammam experience dedicated to physical and spiritual rejuvenation. (The latter is not included in the package price and requires reservation.)

  • In the morning we set off on a half-day city bike tour, that not only reveals Marrakesh’s hidden side but also introduces us to the inspiring work of a social enterprise. This initiative trains young women in guiding and bicycle repair, opening new job opportunities for them while promoting sustainable urban mobility and social equality. During the tour, we will stop at a local bakery, take a glimpse into the world of mosaic-making, rest at a sustainability-focused café, and refresh ourselves with a glass of mint lemonade. For those who prefer not to cycle, a guided bazaar walk along part of the same route offers the chance to experience the vibrant atmosphere of the bustling markets and artisans’ workshops at a more relaxed pace.
  • The afternoon is all about rest and indulgence: an exclusive hammam experience and Moroccan massage await us, accompanied by fine mint tea and traditional pastries. This program is dedicated to physical and spiritual rejuvenation, allowing us to immerse ourselves in Morocco’s rich wellness traditions. (This program is not included in the package price.)
  • We will end the evening with an optional program: the chance to enjoy cocktails on a charming rooftop terrace (drinks at your own expense). With panoramic views over the city, those who wish can round off the day with dancing and entertainment.

Day 5 – Ancient Knowledge and Berber Hospitality in the Heart of the Atlas

  • On this day, we will leave behind the bustle of the city and travel to a remote village in the Atlas Mountains, where tourism is almost entirely absent. Here we will arrive in a community where traditional ways of life and a deep connection to nature are part of everyday existence. This day is a true journey back in time, offering the chance to experience authentic Berber culture, far away from the usual tourist paths.
  • We will visit a women’s carpet-weaving cooperative. We will experience the process of washing and spinning wool , which the locals carry out in the village stream – just as they have done for centuries. We will learn how colorful threads are transformed into carpets decorated with traditional motifs, and we will also have the chance to try the meticulous work of weaving ourselves. There will be an opportunity to purchase on site, so anyone who wishes can take home a piece of this living tradition.
  • During the day, we will have lunch with a local Berber family. Our hosts will warmly welcome us with traditional dishes prepared from ingredients of the mountains. The meal will be an intimate occasion where we can connect with the community not only through flavors but also through their stories.
  • This day offers a complete and profound cultural experience , bringing us into real closeness with the everyday life of Berber villages in the Atlas Mountains. Washing wool in the stream, spinning and weaving together, sharing a family meal, and hearing the women’s stories all contribute to memories that will stay with us – and show how tourism can exist respectfully, preserving local traditions.

Day 6 – Among Mountains and in Community

  • In the morning, we set out on a light yet experience-rich hike in the Atlas Mountains. Along the walk, the fresh mountain air, endless panoramas, and silence set the rhythm – here we truly connect with nature while our local guide shares stories about the region’s history, traditions, and the everyday life of the people who live here.
  • The afternoon is free to spend at your leisure: you may choose to relax in the peaceful surroundings of the eco-lodge, retreat into the embrace of the mountains, or discover small local experiences in the area. Today’s experiences reflect the spirit of ecotourism in Morocco: we hike in the Atlas Mountains with a local guide, rest in an eco-lodge, and every part of our program contributes to the daily life of village communities.
  • We will end the evening with a shared dinner at our lodge, where dishes made from fresh, local ingredients will be served. This dinner is more than just a meal: it is a communal moment where we share the day’s experiences, talk, laugh, and feel the special strength of women coming together around a table in a faraway corner of the world.

Day 7 – A Berber Woman’s Story: Farm Visit, Lunch & Traditional Bread Making

  • Meet a Berber woman entrepreneur and learn about her family’s story and tourism initiative. Enjoy a guided walk around her farm, where she shares how she built the place from her grandfather’s former olive grove. Lunch is served on the farm, followed by a visit to the old village and a former olive press, where — together with her mother — you’ll learn how to bake traditional Berber bread.

Day 8 – Farewell to Morocco

  • After breakfast, we set out and return to Marrakesh. We will conclude our journey with a farewell lunch, where we can once more savor the richness of Moroccan flavors and share the most beautiful moments of the past days with each other. This lunch is not only about delicious dishes, but also about community, laughter, and the way we became true travel companions over the course of a week.
  • Our itinerary concludes after lunch, filled with experiences, stories, and new friendships – because this journey was about more than just travel: it was about the strength of women’s community, inspiring encounters, and sustainable experiences that will stay with us as we return home.
