In the Fergana Valley, you’ll step into the world of traditional craftsmanship, where textile weaving, ceramics and embroidery continue to be practised using techniques that have been handed down through generations. The journey then continues to Samarkand, where the legacy of the Silk Road, vibrant bazaars and magnificent architectural treasures create an unforgettable experience.
Each destination reveals a new story, while your visit helps support local artisan communities and the preservation of their remarkable cultural heritage.

The price includes, all transfers within Uzbekistan, accommodation throughout the journey, all planned excursions and activities, the services of a Hungarian/English -speaking tour leader for the entire trip, and almost all meals (at least half-board throughout, with lunch included on selected days).

- 40% deposit upon booking
- Remaining 60% payable 60 days before departure
The tour price also includes a 12,000 HUF charitable contribution, supporting both a local women’s organisation in Uzbekistan and a women’s advocacy initiative in Hungary.

- 2 nights in Fergana at a thoughtfully chosen hotel with half-board.
- 1 night in Kokand at a local hotel with half-board.
- 1 night in Tashkent at a charming, locally inspired hotel with half-board.
- 3 nights in Samarkand at a carefully selected hotel from the city’s finest local accommodation, with half-board.

Day 1 – Departure
- Travel from Budapest to Uzbekistan.

Day 2 – Your adventure begins in Tashkent
Upon arrival at Tashkent International Airport, you’ll be welcomed by your guide and driver before transferring to your hotel. After some time to relax and refresh, we’ll meet our guide and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, where you’ll have your first taste of authentic Uzbek cuisine.
- In the afternoon, we’ll explore some of Tashkent’s most iconic sights, then stroll through Amir Timur Square, descend into the city’s beautifully decorated metro stations, widely regarded as some of the most striking in the world and visit the Museum of applied Arts, home to an exceptional collection of traditional Uzbek craftsmanship.
- Our journey continues to Navruz Eco Park, where Uzbekistan’s rich cultural heritage comes to life through traditional architecture, artisan workshops and folk traditions. It feels as though you’ve travelled across the country’s most beautiful regions in a single afternoon.
- One of today’s highlights is a silk-painting workshop, where you’ll create your own hand-painted silk scarf under the guidance of local artisans, a unique keepsake to take home.
In the evening, there is the option to join the group for dinner at a charming local restaurant before returning to the hotel.

Day 3 – The artisan treasures of the Fergana Valley
After breakfast, we’ll board the train to Margilan. As we travel through Uzbekistan’s changing landscapes, we’ll make our way to the Fergana Valley, a region renowned for its centuries-old artisan traditions.
- Our first visit is to the workshop of Rasuljon Mirzaakhmedov, where we’ll discover the story of a family that has been weaving exquisite ikat textiles for nine generations. Admire the remarkable handwoven ikat velvet and fabrics that have attracted the attention of internationally acclaimed fashion designers and earned the master artisan a UNESCO Award of Excellence.
- Next, we’ll visit the Yodgorlik Silk Factory, one of the few places where traditional silk production is still carried out entirely by hand. Here, you’ll follow every stage of the silk-making process, from thread to finished fabric.
- At the carpet gallery, Nargiza Sherkhodzhaeva shares how she combines traditional craftsmanship with contemporary, experience-led tourism while introducing us to the everyday lives of Uzbekistan’s master artisans.
After the day’s visits, we’ll continue to Fergana and check into our hotel. The evening is free, with an optional dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 4 – Uzbek craftsmanship and the flavours of home
After breakfast, we’ll begin the day with a visit to the Begoyim Atelier, founded by Nargiza Yuldasheva. Her collections blend traditional Uzbek dress with contemporary design, creating beautifully handcrafted clothing and accessories from locally woven silk and cotton ikat fabrics. Each piece is made through the collaboration of experienced artisans and young apprentices, helping to preserve these remarkable skills for future generations.
- We’ll then be welcomed into Nargiza’s home for a memorable cooking experience. During this hands-on class, you’ll learn the fundamentals of Uzbek cuisine, discover traditional recipes and prepare authentic dishes using locally sourced ingredients. Lunch will be served in a warm family setting, offering a genuine taste of Uzbek hospitality.
- In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Elnur Leather Workshop, where Eldorbek Matmusaev combines fine leather craftsmanship with traditional Uzbek textiles, including adras and satin, to create distinctive contemporary accessories and artisan products.
The evening is free to enjoy dinner at a local restaurant at your own leisure before returning to the hotel.

Day 5 – In Search of Uzbekistan's Blue Ceramics
After breakfast, we’ll travel to Rishtan, Uzbekistan’s most celebrated centre of ceramics. For centuries, the town has been renowned for its distinctive blue-glazed pottery, one of the finest surviving craft traditions of the Silk Road.
- We’ll visit the workshop of master potter Diyorbek Nazirov, whose family has preserved the art of traditional ceramics for generations. You’ll learn about every stage of the pottery-making process before taking part in a hands-on workshop, where you’ll decorate your own ceramic piece. Your finished work will be professionally fired and delivered to you before the end of the journey.
- Following lunch, we’ll continue to Kokand, where we’ll visit the magnificent Khudoyar Khan Palace, one of the architectural masterpieces of the former Khanate of Kokand. We’ll also explore the 19th-century Jami Mosque, admired for its beautifully carved wooden columns and richly decorated ceiling.
In the evening, we’ll check into our hotel in Kokand. There is the option to enjoy dinner at a local restaurant before returning to the hotel.

Day 6 – The Art of Uzbek Jewellery
After breakfast, we’ll visit the Aydina Collection workshop, where Rano Botaboeva introduces us to the traditions of Uzbek jewellery making.
- Continuing her family’s artistic legacy, she transforms traditional motifs and stories into contemporary jewellery while working alongside a community of women artisans, creating opportunities through craftsmanship. You’ll also take part in an inspiring jewellery-making workshop, where you’ll learn traditional techniques and create your own unique piece to take home.
- After lunch, we’ll visit a local bazaar or supermarket to pick up snacks and treats for our evening train journey.
Later, we’ll transfer to the railway station and board a comfortable train back to Tashkent. On arrival, our driver will take us to the hotel.

Day 7 – The Flavours and Treasures of Samarkand
After an early breakfast, we’ll meet our guide and set off to discover the legendary city of Samarkand.
- Our day begins at the famous Siab Bazaar, one of Uzbekistan’s oldest and most vibrant markets, where colourful displays of dried fruits, spices, fresh produce and local delicacies fill the air with sights and aromas.
- We’ll then visit the magnificent Bibi-Khanym Mosque before stepping inside a traditional Suzani embroidery workshop, where you’ll gain an insight into the intricate techniques behind one of Uzbekistan’s most treasured textile arts. Following lunch at a local restaurant, we’ll check into our hotel and enjoy some free time to explore Samarkand at your own pace.
In the evening, there is an optional dinner at a local restaurant. Afterwards, you’ll have the opportunity to admire and photograph the beautifully illuminated Registan Square or the exterior of the Gur-e-Amir Mausoleum, both spectacular after dark.

Day 8 – Samarkand: History and Traditional Crafts
After breakfast, we’ll begin the day at the Afrasiab Museum, where remarkable wall paintings from the ancient kingdom of Sogdiana reveal the story of Samarkand’s distant past.
- We’ll then visit the Konigil Meros Paper Mill, where traditional handmade paper is still produced using centuries-old techniques. During a short workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to try this fascinating craft for yourself.
- After lunch at a local restaurant, we’ll continue our exploration of the city with a visit to the magnificent Gur-e-Amir Mausoleum, the resting place of Timur, before arriving at the iconic Registan Square, where its monumental madrasahs stand as enduring symbols of the Silk Road’s golden age.
- The day concludes with a memorable national folklore performance at one of Samarkand’s prestigious concert venues, such as the Grand Hall or Maroqand, where traditional Uzbek music and dance come vividly to life.
Dinner is at your own leisure before returning to the hotel.

Day 9 – Farewell to Samarkand and Return to Tashkent
After breakfast, we’ll meet our guide and driver before beginning our final day in Samarkand at the Hazrat Khizr Mosque, one of the city’s finest viewpoints, offering sweeping views across the historic skyline.
- We’ll then visit the remarkable Shah-i-Zinda necropolis, one of Uzbekistan’s most sacred and visually stunning sites, celebrated for its extraordinary blue and turquoise tilework.
- Our next stop is the Hudjum Handwoven Silk Carpet Workshop, a women-led artisan workshop where traditional carpet weaving skills continue to be passed from one generation to the next. Following lunch at a local restaurant, we’ll meet a group of Samarkand businesswomen, who will share their personal stories and offer an inspiring insight into female entrepreneurship in modern Uzbekistan.
- In the afternoon, we’ll transfer to the railway station and board the Afrosiyob high-speed train back to Tashkent.
Dinner is at your own leisure before a late-evening transfer to Tashkent International Airport, approximately three hours before your flight xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.
Day 10 – Arrival in Budapest

- A €50 per person gratuity contribution, collected at the beginning of the tour and distributed among local guides and drivers in accordance with local customs.
- Evening meals, which are optional and at your own expense.

Cancellation Policy
- More than 90 days before departure: 50% of the amount paid will be refunded.
- 60 days before departure: 30% of the amount paid will be refunded.
- Within 30 days of departure: payments are non-refundable; however, your booking may be transferred to another traveller.
- If the tour does not operate due to insufficient numbers or other organiser-related reasons, all payments will be fully refunded or transferred to a future departure of your choice.
